Friday blues…
Friday, August 25, 2006I am close to considering this day as my official birthday. In a few hours' time I am about to meet my closest friends to hit the videokes and sing our lungs out 'til tomorrow morning. I really want to spend my birthday with them this year, to patch up from my absence last year. Last year's celebration was with my then team lead at work and some Pinoy acquaintance in Germany — it was a 5-day street party in the city featuring alternative bands. Everything was fun being the first time that I celebrate my special day away from my family and friends here… exciting but sad.
But my friends were celebrating then as well — partying in Ortigas without me haha! But thanks to their overseas calls that I could somehow 'join' them in their gimik via phone patch. Aww.
Despite the anxiety that I'm feeling the entire day, my gimik later kept me sane thank goodness. I know this sick feeling will pass once I get to see them later
Haggard days are over!
Thursday, August 24, 2006Seriously though.. I felt great somehow cause I've learned a lot
Irerespeto ko na ang boss ko mula ngayon nyahaha.
I better end this day with a celebration eh? Dinner with my dinnermate vaklers. Ciao!
‘Habewdey’
Tuesday, August 22, 2006It's barely a week before my birthday and, as usual, my folks at home are excited about it — that's how it is at home, though we do not really have the finances to celebrate birthdays with much glam hehe… just a merienda gathering among immediate relatives, that's all — asking me about my plans blah blah… which in fact I haven't given some thought up 'til now.
Anyway, what really made my rest day(s) extra special was a couple of advanced bday gifts I received last Sunday (",) : a gold ring from my grandma, a bag from Girbaud from my ninang, and.. a cute and honest-to-goodness "Happy birthday" from my youngest cousin (who is soooo cute hihihi!). Well, you see, he's two and a half and now at the stage of mimicking everything we tell him. So when he was told that it's my bday next Sunday and asked to greet me, he just uttered some 'Habewdey..' and that was enough for me to kiss him and hurry somewhere upstairs and hide..
Yep. I cried. My cute baby cousin has beaten everyone else in greeting me on my 23rd year of existence. It was one week too early but so what. He made my day and the first greeting matters to me. Maybe the absence of my relatives (physically) during my previous birthday made me appreciate them now..
The gold ring by the way was not really from my grandma. It was originally my mom's and my lola had it 'reworked' to fit on me. Good timing that she handed it to me before my birthday that I consider it as a present hehe!
The bag? Well let's just say that we must do good things and good things will happen to you. That simple. Karma. And it feels good!
Ayt! Back to work
