Celcom vs. Maxis

Wednesday, May 14, 2008

After a year of enslavement in my currect job finally the company had provided my team with a postpaid Celcom sim pack.  Note that there is no phone included! haha!  Well it’s not so bad since I did not experience this priviledge in my previous job.  This sim got me excited actually — first postpaid sim! w00t! w00t!

OK so please bear with me and have your phonebooks updated - I am keeping this post published for the next couple of months so friends (and semi- / demi- friends) might stumble upon my new mobile number here in MY.

+60 19 2437645.  There.

I honestly still don’t know if I better shut off my good ol’ Hotlink sim or not.. I was advised by my boss about some extra charges if I want to avail the postpaid roaming services which is like super insane compared to Hotlink’s automatic roaming activation in wherever country I go.  Maybe if this Celcom one proves worthy then I will keep it.  If not then I’ll sure let you know.

Some trivia though about Hotlink rates below.  I hope Celcom could beat these.

  • 1SMS = RM 7sen                              approx. Php 90centavos

  • 1SMS (Active10) = RM 1sen               approx Php 13centavos

  • 1min call  = RM 35sen                       approx Php 4.55

  • 1min call (Active10) = RM 20sen         approx Php 2.60

  • 1min call to Philippines = RM 50sen    approx Php 6.50
