The Conclusion
Thursday, July 26, 2007[Warning - Spoiler ahead!]
Was just catching breath. After four days of reading and whatnots in between, finally i'm done with the final book. And damn was it good! Ugh, no, not good but Great! Thank YOU, JKRowling, for this final installment that will forever bear a soft space in me. Shucks… can't get over it!
Now, after reading the book.. it kinda left me with a sinking feeling. Something like I-won't-experience-this-stuff-ever-again feeling. It's like breaking up… sorry, it's the first thing that came up to compare the feeling with! haha! But I'm glad I was born in the Harry Potter generation… I will sure have my future kids and grandkids read it. It is a classic in the making.
It was 2001 when I first get hold of the first book, lying in our bed in our apartmentin LB… inviting me to read it. Boy was I thankful my curiosity got the better of me that afternoon. It is a great pleasure knowing the orphan that changed the hearts of many kids and not-so-kids like me.
To Fred, Hedwig, May-Eye, Lupin, Tonks, and DOBBY… it was a meaningful death. Huhuhu… But why Dobby? It was the most tearjerking part of the book for me. Second to the one where Harry walks his way to the Forbidden Forest with his Mom and Dad, Lupin and Sirius. Waaah… Kakaiyak talaga yun super!
Moving on… Cheers to the friendship! It is a gift that all three of them are alive. I really thought JKR would kill Ron, thank God i was wrong. And to Ron and Hermione kissing at last! hihi! And Albus Severus? Sweet!
Time to part ways now… I will have to say goodbye, Harry, for the wonderful seven years… It is such a pleasure knowing the Boy Who Lived.
Homesick
Thursday, July 19, 2007Too soon huh? Just after 5months from my first day of setting foot here and I'm already confessing what I feared most.
Lately the 'homesick' attacks are becoming frequent during the dawn. Maybe it has something to do with my exact location at work. I am facing the window to the east. And while working during the night and fighting the urge to nap, the first sight of sunrise around 7 to 7:30 (sunrise here is late by an hour compared to Phils) gives me this peculiar longing feeling. Wishing I'm home. I've always treated dawn watch as a serene activity. And greeting the gray sky to become dark orange to pale blue is NOT helping me. It has been thrice this month that I have almost booked a flight home regardless how much it costs and so far I am still able to fight the urge… I wonder for how long..
I.must.NOT.go.home.until.October. OriginalPlan.

Transformers @ IMAX!
Monday, July 9, 2007Saturday, 07-07-07
Woohoo!! My 1st IMAX experience ever! Together with the DHL pinoy community, around 20 of us went to watch what turned out to be my Movie-of-the-Year. Ang ganda grabe!!!
I am not a huge Transformers fan but the CGis were just so believable, and Shia Labeouf did justice in potraying Sam's character (liked 'Sam's Happy Time' scene, and the Chihuahua…). Plus he did get the girl in the end, nice hehe… Him kissing Megan Fox in the end while Linkin Park's "What I've Done" is playing in the background? Panalo! Nerds always gets the hot chick in the end. Hahaha!
Dreaming of Chevvy ever since we've watched the movie… Might not be this year, but next year it will be! Promise of a lifetime! hehe!
After the movies we were off to The Ship, a westernized resto, and pigged out til eleven. Twas my first time to join them (they have a regular movie night outs, always at IMAX) and I must say i really had fun. We were the only noisy crowd in the whole sophisticated restaurant. What can I say, Pinoys are jolly people. Walang keber kahit nasaang lugar haha!
By the way, did you notice the date last Saturday? Great day eh!
Birthstone
Monday, July 2, 2007Last weekend a friend and I went to KL to watch Ocean's Thirteen. The movie was hilarious and much much better than Ocean's Twelve.
Anyway, we happen to discover these Feng Shui store and some bracelets are for sale, which are made of various gemstones that are birthstones. Mine is Peridot — a green crystal for the month of August. I knew about my birthstone years ago… but it was only that day at the store did I realize that it must be because of my birthstone why I have a liking to anything green.
It started last 2005, after my trip from Germany, when suddenly majority of stuff i bought are in green, or somehow has a hint of green in it. I thought liking a certain color just come with seasons - this month is pink, next month will be white, etc. But even up to present green is still my favorite.
Maybe it has something to do with my birthstone. I like to think that way.
