Time for a Makeover
Wednesday, May 23, 2007For my blog that is. Previously I used a white empty room as a background. I wanted it before since I did a major move-in here in MY. Dealing with apartment units and real estate brokers et al. Thus the empty room with everything white.
Now after 3months of staying here in the high-tech wilderness that is Cyberjaya, all I need is the hustles and bustles of the suburbs. I want some noise from honking cars, of corporate people making their way on rush hour, of 24/7 food joints that are available everywhere. I miss the typical Makati working day where I used to spend 12hours per day working (or sometimes pretending to) for almost three years.
Now please don't think that I am complaining. I just missed it hehe. So I opted for my blog to have a new look, which cries of citylife. Unfortunately I don't have with me right now a Makati skyline, so I used i.ph's very own Hong Kong skyline hehe. And the picture up there ^ is taken by moi, one lonely friday night from my previous workplace, somewhere in the 35th floor of RCBC Tower 2. It is the view of AyalaLand's 'The Columns', and the busy street of Buendia corner Ayala avenue. In Makati Central Business District of course =)
So there. You know what I'm craving for. Heck, I'm changing blog themes from time to time anyway!
Incoming: Deathly Hallows!
Thursday, May 17, 2007I have too many reasons to get hyped this year - conclusions to trilogies (Pirates of the Carribean, Spider-Man, Shrek), my friends coming here in three months time, and this –
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - out on July 21!
This is the US Edition book cover, which I think is better. Though it is very different from the UK edition.
Can't wait to read this!!
Hopeless
Wednesday, May 9, 2007Sayonarra.
I have been hopeful for a couple of days thinking that I will be spending the last weekend of May with my friends under the sun in Puerto Galera. My leave is already approved by my boss, and only one more major detail to go and I am ready to go shopping for pasalubongs. I have to book my flight home and back.
First I checked Cebupacific Air. They have a flight on May 25 afternoon bound to Manila. They also have a flight the following Tuesday night, May 29 going to KL. Thing is — it is way way expensive.
The kuripot in me tells me no. Almost PHP 10K airfare to spend 4 days in Philippines is too much for me. Knowing myself, going home means infinite shopping, so fare + pasalubong + shopping for stuff to bring back = more or less 50K. I am saving for something more important come October, plus I am preparing a vacation-grandeur for them on their coming here for my bday so might as well forget the Galera trip. Sigh.
Oh, I've checked with AirAsia too. They have cheaper fares alright, but 3 hours of travel to/from Clark ain't my thing. PAL? Not a budget airline. Malaysia Airlines – haha.
This is a sad realization. I thought I could come home once every 3 months but at this time of saving for something else more valuable must be my priority. Of course I would give anything to be on the beach right now with my closest friends but sometimes you really cannot have the best of both worlds..
So. Sad.

Monday, May 7, 2007Hurrah! A worry-free weekend finally! After 2months at work, and after 4 projects completed( first two got defects, 3rd was error-free g-r-e-a-t =) ; the latest I am currently crossing my fingers for it is at the hands of someone in our counterparts in US, checking my projects for loopholes) I actually had the chance to relax!
And I did grab the opportunity hihi! Jun and I did what we really missed doing back in Manila — watch movie and eat out hehe. This afternoon we watched Spiderman 3 at GSC Midvalley. Being our first time to try Malaysian cinema, we are a bit excited to see the film and at the same time critique what their moviehouses have to offer. Well i could say that we were not disappointed, from the security check to the end of the movie, everything is perfect. It's just like watching from Eastwood hehe! The only hassle is getting the ticket because the line is unbelievably long! Thank God we did not have to suffer from the looong line since a good friend bought our tickets last Saturday.
Then since lately i've been craving for any fastfood, we had our dinner at Kenny Roger's Roasters — one of the many food joints that we missed terribly back home. Their original roasted chicken really is worth every ringgit! =)
I wish each and every weekend to come will be like this.
